Right People in Council. Problems can become opportunities when the right people come together.

Petty, party, politics and ‘Solo’ Mayoral decisions are weakening Torbay. I would put the ‘Right people, in the right job, doing the right thing’. ‘Chosen on ability not political colour’. Only an Independent Mayor can do this.

Are you like me, fed up with Ping-Pong politics in Torbay? A Mayor who simply selects on party colour rather than on ability from all councillors rather than a few. And then even within the current Conservative group they voted Mayor Oliver out as leader in a vote of no confidence.

This simply weakens Torbay and surely no other organisation or business would function like this.

A solution needs to come to strengthen Torbay and make it better.

How about positions covering communities, sport, tourism, health, children, families, adult care, culture, arts, business, employment, finance, regeneration… selected on ability from all 36 councillors we select on May 7th rather than just a few on political colour and limited choice.

An Independent not chosen on political colour but simply on best ability would select an executive just like that.

I believe that would make a BETTER TORBAY for us all.
